I found this article and I wanted to share, as it really opened my eyes to how to teach kids consequences/

In talking with lots of parents over the years, I have found that they find this to be the most difficult task of parenting!

After all, you love your kids, so it’s often hard to set boundaries and stay consistent with them.  This article might really help you if you find yourself struggling with this, as it outlines some very helpful tips:

It is definitely worth a read, and when I read it, I realized how the concepts that he discusses, covers key aspects of discipline that are taught in martial arts.  After all, respect and discipline are two MAJOR  focuses of martial arts – because they’re the key to confidence, happiness, and inner-peace.

If your child has a problem obeying rules, it would be worth considering having him or her try karate, where discipline is developed in a fun environment that is fun, promotes fitness, and has milestones to encourage incremental achievement!  If you are in South Orange County, I recommend calling Zen Dojos Martial Arts Academy at 949-240-6574, and they can work with you on an affordable intro program to see if Karate is right for your little one(s).
